Sunday wash a complete washout, the sky was a miserable grey, and the garden resembled a koi pond. We decided to take a lounge day, and the kids watched Madagascar 2. Lewis, who is 9 and lives down the road, came over to watch with them, and his folks Debbie and Bennie stayed and had a beer. It turns out that Lewis had gotten a hidoeus dogbite from a white Jindo that lives near Kims coffee shop on Texas street. He had stiches and drains as well as a course of antibiotics, what a stress for his folks. The Jindo has been living on the main street forever, and is chained to its doghouse, where many people, and young children, pet it daily. What is more disturbing is that the owners refuse to remove him, one can only shudder to think what might have been had a little child been bitten, as its face would have been right at attack level. Today I ran passed and he is still there, that's one dog we will definitely be avoiding!
I have made some minestrone soup, and a delicious loaf of fresh bread for supper. Much to my delight I found a big box of Quakers oats at the foreigners store near the school, I'm sure everyone will enjoy them, we haven't seen an oat in ages! Its been interesting doing the grocery shopping, everything is totally Korean, and with us being veggies its rather difficult to decide what is and isn't edible! Most of the stores are awash with the aroma of fish and kimchi!
I took a run down town today, it was not very long, but quite fascinating. I ran passed the fish market, and it looks like perhaps there will be some sea life to observe come the spring and we manage to do some snorkeling. We are trying to decide where we will take our holiday this year, snorkeling is tops of my list, I think surfing might be tops of Jon's!
