The garden is almost ready for planting! This weekend was the final big dig, so the beds are prepared and ready to rock. We have planted out seeds and have put them upstairs where it is warm so that they will germinate. There are three different watermelon sorts(yummy) and a few melons too, as well as the usual suspect of beans, peas, lettuce, marrows, pumpkins, squash(gems!!!!) eggplant and some herbs , including coriander(my fave).
Hopefully they will be peeking their little heads through the top of the soil sometime this week. Strangely exciting and compelling...
It was St Patricks evening at the Foreigner's Club on Saturday night, and we went along to partake in the guzzling of Guinness and the glory of old Ireland. The kids enjoyed themselves in the kiddies area and we had a good chat with some of the other expats. There are so many nationalities represented on the island, I believe Ruby has ten different nationalities in her class alone.
We did have a lovely evening out (alone!) on Friday, and took the opportunity to eat some curry at the local Indian , The Delhi. The food was good, but the conversation was even better. Its so important to have time to ourselves, and we realise how few minutes we actually do spend alone together, not counting the exhausted comatose sleeping at night! The kids had a fantastic time being cared for by Bennie and Debbie, eating pizza and playing hide and seek. It was hilarious watching all the shipyard workers around town getting completely toast on Soju(a traditional Korean rice liqueur) and walking home hanging onto each other, or actually dragging each other, and laughing their heads off, great entertainment. Will have to give it a bash ourselves....
